1 Our Privacy Philosophy

Mangal Setu is built specifically for traditional, family-oriented matchmaking. Unlike open social media or dating apps, we strictly minimize data collection to what is essential for verifying identity and facilitating respectful matrimonial conversations between families.

Zero Commercial Data Monetization
We do not sell, rent, barter, trade, or share your personal data, biodata, or contact numbers with any telemarketers, commercial advertisers, or third-party brokers. Your data is used exclusively to facilitate your own matrimonial search on Mangal Setu.

2 Information We Collect

To create and authenticate your matrimonial profile, we collect the following categories of information:

  • Account & Authentication: Full Name, Gender, Date of Birth, Email address (verified via OTP), and Member's personal mobile number.
  • Matrimonial Biodata: Community/Caste, Sub-caste, Marital Status, Height, Education, Occupation, Annual Income, Native Place, Current City, and Lifestyle preferences.
  • Family & Guardian Information: Father's Name, Mother's Name, Native District, and Father/Guardian's verified contact phone number.
  • Photographs: Self-uploaded recent portrait photographs for community verification.
  • Transactional Data (Payment): When purchasing the ₹99 30-Day Boy Pass, Razorpay collects payment authorization. We store only the Razorpay Payment ID, transaction date, and status. We do NOT store or have access to your bank passwords, UPI PINs, debit/credit card numbers, or CVVs.

3 Our Proprietary Privacy Safeguards

We implement industry-leading technical measures to protect members from unwanted solicitation, harassment, or privacy breaches:

Member Privacy Controls
1. Own Mobile Privacy (Admin Only): A member's direct personal mobile number is never displayed publicly to other app users. It is kept strictly in an internal vault accessible only to verified administrators for account security and KYC validation.

2. Family/Guardian Contact Channel (Interest-Gated Protection): The father/guardian's contact phone number, WhatsApp, and Call options are strictly protected and remain masked until the prospective candidate accepts an Interest Request. Direct contact details never appear openly to unapproved users, ensuring zero harassment or unsolicited calls.

3. Strictly Text-Only In-App Chat: In-app messaging is strictly restricted to text messages. File uploads, audio files, and photo exchange inside chat are disabled to prevent spam and improper image dissemination.

4. Watermarked Profile Pictures: Profile pictures are protected against unauthorized copying or screen capture abuse.

5. Daily Anti-Spam Interest Quota (5 Requests / 24 Hours): To protect members from mass spamming, bot scraping, and unwanted solicitation, users (both female and male) can send a maximum of 5 Interest Requests per 24 hours. Once 5 requests are exhausted, requests are paused for 24 hours.

સભ્યનો પોતાનો અંગત મોબાઇલ નંબર એપમાં કોઈને પણ દેખાતો નથી (માત્ર એડમિન વેરિફિકેશન માટે રહે છે). પરિવારો અને દીકરીઓની સંપૂર્ણ સુરક્ષા માટે પિતાનો મોબાઈલ નંબર, વોટ્સએપ અને કોલ બટન સીધા કોઈને દેખાતા નથી. સામેવાળા સભ્ય તમારી 'Interested' રિક્વેસ્ટ સ્વીકારશે (Accept કરશે) ત્યારે જ પિતાનો સંપર્ક અનલોક થશે. ચેટમાં પણ માત્ર સેફ ટેક્સ્ટ મેસેજ જ થઈ શકે છે. ઉપરાંત, સ્પેમ રોકવા માટે કોઈપણ સભ્ય દિવસમાં વધુમાં વધુ ૫ લોકોને જ રિક્વેસ્ટ મોકલી શકે છે. તમારો ડેટા કોઈ ત્રીજી કંપનીને વેચવામાં આવતો નથી.

4 User Data Authenticity, Due Diligence & "Caveat Emptor"

While Mangal Setu implements administrative screening, all profile particulars, biodata, photos, and family details are self-declared directly by applicants and their guardians.

Caveat Emptor Principle Applicable on All Applicants
1. Principle of Caveat Emptor: All registered members, applicants, and prospective brides/grooms expressly acknowledge and agree that the foundational legal doctrine of Caveat Emptor ("Let the applicant/buyer beware") is strictly applicable to all profile data, contact details, and interactions on Mangal Setu. Users and their families must independently verify the authenticity, marital eligibility, employment, character, and claims of prospective candidates before taking decisions.

2. Intermediary Safe Harbor (IT Act 2000, Section 79): Mangal Setu acts solely as a technological intermediary connecting community members. We accept no liability, financial responsibility, or legal accountability for any third-party inaccuracies, fraudulent declarations, or matrimonial disputes between members.
ગુજરાતી સ્પષ્ટતા (સભ્યોની કાનૂની સાવચેતી માટે):
'Caveat Emptor' (અરજદાર પોતે સાવધાન રહે) ના કાયદાકીય સિદ્ધાંત મુજબ, પ્રોફાઇલમાં મૂકેલી કોઈપણ વિગત કે બાયોડેટાની ખરાઈ કરવાની, સરકારી ઓળખપત્રો તપાસવાની અને રૂબરૂ મુલાકાત લઈ ખાતરી કરવાની સંપૂર્ણ જવાબદારી સભ્યો અને તેમના પરિવારની રહેશે. મંગલ સેતુ એપ ફક્ત પરિચય માટેનું એક પ્લેટફોર્મ છે, કોઈ વિગતની કાયદાકીય ગેરંટી આપતું નથી.

5 How We Store & Protect Your Data

All user records are hosted on secure Supabase enterprise cloud infrastructure utilizing industry-standard PostgreSQL Row-Level Security (RLS) policies. Data transmission is secured using Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3 / SSL 256-bit encryption). Access to administrative tools is gated behind Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

6 Your Rights: Modification & Deletion

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, you possess full ownership of your personal data:

  • Right to Access & Rectify: You may review and update your personal details, biodata, and photos anytime within the "Edit Profile" screen.
  • Right to Account Deletion: You may permanently delete your profile and purge all associated biodata and photographs directly from the app settings or by emailing mangalsetu.in@gmail.com. Upon confirmation, data is permanently erased within 48 hours.
